Podcast Project
This page is my reflection on the work process of the project from week one to week seven. This project is mainly about the production of a podcast in the form of a group. In the podcast, we discussed Disney’s issue of gender construction. This project not only helped us improve ourselves in writing, it also helped us in speaking.

Pre-Production: Preparation and Planning
In the first week, we learned an important word: social construction. By learning this word, we understand what the writing direction and theme of this semester are and what issues are being discussed in the articles we read.This allowed me to practice applying the reading skills I learned before to various kinds of texts
This paragraph is a commentary on Jean Kilbourne's lecture, Killing Us Softly. By commenting on this project, I have a preliminary development of my podcast content, which is about the appearance of Disney princesses. And after learning how to annotate, I have an understanding of how to conduct project annotations afterwards. This made me develop habits for engaged reading and started practicing this technique
For this annotated podcast assignment, I annotated a podcast commenting on the Frozen movie, which coincides with the theme of our podcast project. It was this podcast that triggered my thinking, that is, whether Frozen really has such equal rights, or whether it still cannot escape the control and influence of male power. At the same time, by observing the structure of podcasts, I have an understanding of how we can make podcasts. And by commenting on the podcast, I practiced the part of Improve your written literacy, digital literacy, and overall communication skills across several media in the course objectives.
Production--Creating the Podcast and Microsite
This file is part of the outline of my speech when I created it. Through the creation of this syllabus, my practice communication skills by reading, speaking, and composing in different types of media. At the same time, when I observed later, I felt that my outline was too detailed. This makes me feel bound by my own outline when speaking.
My role in the team is an editor. This makes me need to arrange the group's video recording method to help my editing. At the same time, I was responsible for inserting music, trimming the slurs or hesitation of the team during recording. In this position, I learned how to cooperate effectively.
This paragraph is the part I interjected in the speech of the group members. Since we all prepared our own speeches, we exchanged the speeches at the end, and then everyone decides where they want to give the speech. While reading, I practiced Apply these reading skills to various kinds of texts. Because I hope I can accurately understand the thoughts of my peers and put forward my own thoughts in his paragraphs.

I learned from the creation of my speech that I should only set up the main points of my speech. Excessively detailed speech drafts will make it difficult to give play to your speech. At the same time, when editing, I realized that group recording is not necessarily easier than scattered recording. Because the first unified recording requires a unified time, and secondly, the interruption in the middle, the verbal errors in the recording, and the hesitation all need to be trimmed. This makes the workload no easier than recording alone.
When working with my peers, I learned how to arrange and unify everyone’s time. And the importance of arranging brainstorming sessions. Because brainstorming can solve a lot of troublesome problems. In collaboration, the most important thing is to let everyone know what should be done. And this can be well reached through collective discussion.
In my speech, I mentioned that women with power rarely have romantic plots in movies. I want to further develop and contact it here. I think sometimes powerful women also have romantic parts in movies. But this romantic part does not end well. For example, Maleficent in Maleficent. Her romantic plot eventually evolved into the use and betrayal of the human king. But in male films, the plot as a romantic part is almost all natural. And the woman often shows a kind of complete obedience.
