The movie I chose was Cinderella, which was released in 1950. Directed by Clyde Geronimi, Wilfred Jackson and Hamilton Luske. This is an animated movie. Ilene Woods voiced Cinderella. When it was first released, it was considered Animation Family Fantasy Musical Romance. It is called exquisite animation with fascinating scenes.
In Katherine Petersdorf's comment, titled Classical and A Soft Re-Telling, she mentioned that she enjoys this ideal: "A girl who is worthless and has nothing can become an amazing person and marry the perfect man."
The imperceptible guidance of gender values in the movie makes the girls guided by the image designed by the patriarch. In the movie, the king and the minister communicated a point of view that the prince would be interested in beautiful girls. (25:22) Different from the Beauty and the Beast that I watched before. The movie always hints that girls should be beautiful in order to be favored by men. It allows girls to examine themselves with male eyes as they grow up. Thus was affected by this patriarchal thought.
